#2Yes mate.
Plates by law NEED to display where they are from. Like mine say JCT600 then the postcode of the garage. As for the 'The Bollocks' bit that's illegal too - should either have a GB flag or nothing at all.
I'd change them if I was you, saves you getting a fine. -
#3like i said hun - they aren't on my car - took them off! have pu standard ones back on as had feeling they were good - lol - thanks xxx

#4id have thought so yes.

#5update
my mum lives nxt door to a traffic copper with Hampshire Police - she showed him my old plates as per in the pic above - and he said they are fine and not illegal - now thats coming from a copper.
But will keep me old ones tho - got bored with these - just didnt know bout the legal side.
He also said - u dont have to have the name/place of where the plates r from on them either! -
#6Dont think it makes it illgal mate. When you get new plates off these sites the only thing they say is illgal are fonts other than std, 3d std, or carbon look. Writing and logos are legal and do pass mot.Quote:Yes mate.

The only problem you would have is if it could be deemed to be offensive, like those plates, then the po po could have something to say which is fair enough.
Having no garage name, or a comment like 'V8 Monaro' on the bottom of a plate is perfectly legal, when you get plates from halfrauds they dont come with halfrauds written on em -
#7WRONG new number plates have to, ie you cant buy them without the suppliers details on then. if there old they prob wont have anythin as they didnt have too by law.Quote:Yes mate.

#8I dont think police would care about it but it will fail the mot as the rules have changed with the plates, it has to have the number in the bottom right corner and who the plates were supplied by
-
#9Are you sure? If you buy a set of plates that aint dodgy they have always had the number in the bottom right corner and who they were supplied by. If you dont have them two things now on the mot it will fail no matter how old the car. Thats how i see it anyway. It has to be due to the tiny plates that people run around with these days
-
#10the numbers in the bottom right (bsau 145)have nothing to do with where it was made .
nah the new mot rules on plates only apply to cars registered after the date when the law came out which was 2001 iirc. as bexsters plates are for a 1997 p reg it wont affect it in the mot
