Can you make a mk1 vts look like a non VT?

Ok, a thought that has been going round in my head-

I was thinking of making my mk1 vts look like a lesser model to enhance its suprise value!

Can i just take off the wheel arches and swap the bumpers with a non VT looking model?

    I think about this then think I should/ then think not-hmm- ??

What sort of weight difference would there be?

I have done a quick search of the forums but obviously most people are upgrading- part of this might mean buying a 1.1 and swapping my vts kit onto a 1.1 and selling it for a little more OR if somebody wanted to part with a little cash to upgrade their Saxo. (mine is dark green)

if you remove the vt kit you will be left with holes all round the car which you would have to get welded up and resprayed.

it would cost a lot as you would basically need a full respray minus the roof, boot and bonnet.

and it would look crap anyway.

    waste of money imo.

if you want people to think its not a vts, you could replace the badges with 1.4 badges or something. or just blank ones. that would throw a few people off. the rear discs are always going to give it away to anyone who knows anything about saxo's

but a flat arch and put in your VTS engine, what ever way you do it, it will cost you alot of money.

Or you could just do it the really cool way and put a 2.0 VTECH in the back

i would say get some furio badges lol but then your guna look abit silly in my eyes, wont get any repect for owning a VTS

damnation! Didnt know i would be left with holes.

Thanks for the knowledge. I have a vinyl cutter, so the 'vts' bits on the door have been blanked put since day one and the 16V badges removed as well.

I also (with the vinyl cutter again) made a "West Country 1.1"

Well, at least that answred my question- if it had been easy I would have done it but no need to spend money on it.

what you should do is put a 3.0 litre v6 in boot lol, keep the vt kit mate not worth it plus saxos look better with them on
