#2Theyre not brilliant by any means but good fun.
I'd say you will be dissapointed due to the fact that you own a VXR! Which will out drag it and probably out corner it.
I was a bit dissapointed with mine when i got it. It felt a lot lot slower than a diesel mondeo which i had as a company car! -
#3really...Quote:Theyre no brilliant by any means but good fun.

mmmmmmmmm putting me of now

#4Maybe a tiny tiny bit slower than your vxr

#6imo there great ittle cars, how much do you want to spend as you can get a decent VTS for cheap these days
-
#7if i strip it all out, decent breathing mods...
-
#9I think the VTR would out corner the Corsa with some nice rubber and a brave driver

#11yeah i agree on the handling! main reason i want one over a valver nova..witch was my original idea..but ive had a vts and it was a corner shagger!!!Quote:I think the VTR would out corner the Corsa with some nice rubber and a brave driver

#12Possibly the best budget handleing car money can buy with the right mods.
Our VTS can out corner a MR2 (thats had over £3k spent on its suspension set up) And our VTS, is standard apart from R888's

- strip it out fully
full exhaust
good rubber
breathing mods
cams
good suspension set up
would be a decent track hag - strip it out fully

#15We do indeed, we simply added the tyres as a test as we had never used them before. To be fair, on the road, and for everyday driving and the occasional fast corner, they will not harm anything.
Would'nt dream of leaving our demo car's with standard suspension
-
#16just hammering it at high speed round sharp bends may cause harm.Quote:We do indeed, we simply added the tyres as a test as we had never used them before. To be fair, on the road, and for everyday driving and the occasional fast corner, they will not harm anything.

grip roll or oil problems are not my idea of fun. -
#17wouldn't bother with a vtr to be honest, i'd look for a 106 xsi or 205gti, could get both for that money and both are quicker than a vtr with equal handling.
-
#18only problem is alot of 205s are rotten.Quote:wouldn't bother with a vtr to be honest, i'd look for a 106 xsi or 205gti, could get both for that money and both are quicker than a vtr with equal handling.
id just get a vts better engine out of the box and can be got for cheap now anyway. -
#19True but for a grand neither of the cars mentioned are gonna be mint bar the vtr, and i'd rather walk than go back to 8v (can of worms)
-
#21yeah go for the 205, and strip it and get it resprayed i say
-
#23shhhhhhhhhhh ryan, it has to look good by my standards, its what id do anyway

i have always wanted a little project car that i can strip and rebuild, but havent got the room or time at the moment -
#25yeah well when ive turned into a rally bleeding slag like you then we will see
-
#28205 is a good shout. but the body would need a bit attention. its only a track car, and my 1st one at that! i want sommet that ill be able to handle and wont be to quick...just a beginers track car
-
#29205's are suprisingly good with regards to body work. The only place the go is on the sills at the back of the door.
Ive never seen a rusty shitty one and ive seen loads of em!
