Engine question

   Am some of you may know im looking to do a 16v conversion, now i have just stumbled across a vts engine for sale with wiring loom and gear box and that bloke who is selling it cant prove the mileage... im tempted to go for it.. but i know nothing about engines so if i go and look at it what should i be looking for?

   if its not in the car its hard to say, usual things is check for mayo in the oil cap and smell the oil *to check for HG failure*
   
   if its not running you cant check for bottom end damage etc..

   yea thats what i thought, hes saying its done 30k and wants £500
   
   only other engine i have seen so far was on the gmcmotorsport site which was like a grand and it had done 10k.. but not really sure if i wanna spend that much on the engine alone
