Hi some of you turbo tuned may think i stupid but just had a thought cause i really want that dump valve sound!! Ive got a compressor on my car for air horns, but does anyone know if i took the air horns off the end and stick a dumpvalve on the end would it make the same kind of sound??
Dumpvalve is it possible???

#2you're joking right?! even if it did work, how would you synchronise it so it made the 'ptshhh' noise every time you either lifted off the accelerator/changed gear??
-
#3press the horn when you let off and change gear of course! Onto a winner there !
or you could go on ebay and get yourself one of these beasties: click here -
#4I havent got musical ones just the standered two so they activate at the same time, Ive got a presure swith that could clip on the intake which you can set to got off at different presures so would it be a case of just putting the tubes from the compressor to a dump valve??

#5but this you won't get pshhhhh sound you are after, just the winning sound of the turbo while accelerating...

#6was posting for alexs post, been reading it on ebay...

#7Jamie,i think Alex was jokin mate, at least i hope he was, coz if not then any respect i had has just gone out the window
sorry mate, but it all sounds a bit chav-tastic. if i was you i'd scrap it, you'll only be found out when vts's whip your ass.

#8hence
lol
Honestly, its not worth it. If you want that sound, in my opinion the only way to get it is by getting a turbo and then fitting an uprated dumpvalve.
P.S: CHAV-TASTIC... Great word hehe! -
#9The sound is created when the air is expelled through the dump valve at high pressure, you would have to think up some way of getting say, 1 BAR of pressure out of your engine/ compressor without damaging it at the same time as you accelerate/ lift off, to get the sound, dont think its possible without a turbo
You would get cained by vts's at the lights anyways once they found out you dont actually have a turbo , lol
