Help Fitting A Volt Gauge

  1. #1
    Hello people noticed some of you have got volt gauges fitted.. i recently purchased one.. here is my instructions:

    * This gauge does not feature a sending unit

    * Do no wire directly to the battery or the gauge will always be turned on

    * The accessory fuse on the ignition switch circuit would be a good location

    * Red Wire - +12V
    Black Wire - Earth
    Yellow Wire - Dimmer + 12V to Dim

    if you connect the yellow wire directly to your side/head light the gauge will automatically dim if you dont want this feature connect the wire to a ground point on the chassis.

    wondering if you have any of you have pics of where to wire it up and if i need anything else? Thanks Alot

    It confused me too mate. I could get it so it was either always on or only on when the lights were on. There was also a push button starter that the previuos owner put in with a really annoying blue light, it was really distracting at night time. i ended up wiring a switch on them both so now the light for the starter and voltmeter only work when the switch is on.
    I know thats not really right but ive sort of giving up on it at the minute

    i had mine down the a pillar when i had gauges

    i ran the wires down there to the back of the stereo

    put the live wire to the power supply for the stereo

    earthed it to the an earth wire that was in the ciggy lighter

    and the other to my sidelights

    i had to buy extra wire though as the original wire that was on the gauges wasnt long enough

    hope this helps
