What plates should I get?

    Just bought a private reg and fancying myself a nice looking new set of plates.

    Which do you think I should go for?

    Here's the reg i've bought:

    I would go completely plain standard british plates but make the gaps less noticable

    hey mate, you didnt have the choice i would of picked up there!!! i would go for standard plastic with raised up carbon fibre letters! got them on my MG ZR looks the bals to me and its legal

    bobbies are really clamping down on these, so whatever you choose, have a legal set with the proper spacing as a reserve..

    if you cover up the f sticker so its just a plate with the reg then you are ok. my mate got pulled for his and they told him its the letter on the side which they dont like.

    The 'F' banner on the side isnt illegal, its the font of the actual letters.

    If you're want pressed plates, you're best of getting them in the UK font, makes them less noticeable and somewhat less (not fully) illegal..

    Whether you have a 'GB' or 'F' banner, or none at all.. is up to you, and makes no difference to the legality.

    Completely wrong. The F denotes a car registered in France, yours isn't so it fails that test immediately.

    As to the grouping of the letters, that's illegal also - prepare to have your plate rescinded by the DVLA .
