Gearbox gone, anymore damage?

    Hi i knew my gearbox was on its way out and it made all the clunky noises but i got in my car last nite and a new whining noise was noticeable when accelerating, 2 mins later went round a roundabout in 2nd and it went CRUNCH! and stopped, stuck on the roundabout my m8 had to tow me but the car wasnt moving even with clutch dipped so my m8 wheelspinned like a mofo and something else crunched and we were off back up the road, do u guys think anymore damage was done to anything while we done this? theyre was also a funny smell and a trail of what i think was gearbox oil all the way back up the road. cheers

    would the car move mate after this hapened?

    I had the same mate when my box went i got towed home by my dad in a pickup with 5 litre straight six in and he didnt even know he was towing me but my car wouldnt move and went with a loud crunch and what not what happened is the box blew thw main shaft bearings went and sent the shaft alover and chewed the casing up and parts of the casing and bearings went into the clutch assembly so you will deffinately need a new clutch mate i am pretty sure of this

    same hapened to me mate whats hapened is your diff has blown out of your gearbox wich makes one wheel spin 1 way and the other to counter act against it and the other moves the other way this is why your car wont move and that would explain the gearbox oil spewwing out?

    Cheers boys am fuckin gutted, no had it long, i bought it knowing it was needing a clutch but not knowing the gearbox was on its way so i bought a new clutch and got it fitted first day i got it, it was then the mechanic told me about the gearbox which i couldnt afford to do at the time, got another gearbox coming today so hope i dont need another clutch aswell!
