106 xsi 140 bhp????

    hey guys just wana no what u thinks been done to my car, its a 1.6 8v xsi wich are 105 bhp i think, the guy before didnt no what was done to it but it has a dyno print off 140 bhp but since then iv put a manifold and decat on it.
    i just wana see if anyone will have a idea of what they thinks been done like cam or bored out etc, its very very torqey and nippy to 60 mph

    What induction has it got?
    Whose rolling road? (some have been a bit optimistic)!
    For that power I'd expect throttle bodies with a lary cam & major headwork matched with a good aftermarket exhaust manifold!

    i fort the 106 xsi was a 1.4 not a 1.6, could of had everyting done mate, cams would be an obvious 1

    1.4 no cat
    1.6 catted (later version)

    yer there is the 1.4 version and 1.6, its a rolling road near me they are quite accurate it dosnt have a induction kit and it dosnt have tbs

    it was 140 bhp with standard exhaust system lol, im thinking its about 150 now iv put a raceland manifold on it supersprint decat and ashley 3 inch backbox

    Post up the rolling road graph.

    Thats a bloody good figure for a standard exhaust, if its true.

    You may just have a awesome cylinder head and cam. Whip the cam belt cover off and see if it has a ajustable vernier pulley? Take the rocker cover off, whip the rockers off and try and find a marking on the cam?

    What was the wheels figure?

    To scan stuff in you need a scanner, or take a photo & see how it comes out!!

    u sure its got the correct engine in it? as it has alot of power for a std engine..

    There are so many things that could have been done to get that power. The early black top engines take very well to tuning. What RPM did it produce its max power? I only ask as if its way up the rev range its likely had a cam. Also when your car is warm see what RPM the rev limitter kicks in as it may have had a remap. If its had a map then you may not see any power gain from changing the exhaust. Its actually perfectly possible you would loose power.

    I know the 1.6's are very quick lol been in one accelerating hard to 70ish

    very nice motors.

    it strangly quick, dont think its 140-150bhp but is up there, av you raced doms vts yet? giv you a good idea if its over 120bhp or not.

    Without tb's you are never going to get that kind of power!
