If it's restrictive in any way, then it will of course restrict the flow of gasses. If you get rid of the restriction your only helping the gases to flow more efficiently. Which is only a good thing! Not sure how much power it will release though. Those 4-2-1 manifolds claim 8-10bhp

You could do it, but a raceland mani will be less hastle and cheaper in the long run!

I never knew the standard manifold looked like that, quite restrictive really.

im taking my manifold off tomorrow so im gonna check mines out

i found that bar when i toke my mani off fort it must be restrictive put tbh i think its just best to get a 421

Its a piece of piss to get a mani off.

I love home mods like this. Dont expect to see a massive difference... if any.

Anything that gets your hands dirty and gives a bit of experience gets a thumbs up from me!!

Seems a lot off work when you can put a nice new shiny manifold on and get better results

tbh this seems abit pointless to me as once you have done this you put it back together and unless you have a CAT under the car that you can take off then the CAT will be in the manifold. so once the manifold is back together then the airflow of the gases will be increased but then they hit the CAT which is very restrictive.

LOL at that guy "cant think why they did this" with regards to the wall. The reason they did it was to create a basic 4-2-1 effect within the standard manifold; check any good quality downpipe and it will have a matching divider. Cheap pattern parts dont have it, so are essentially a giant log manifold with one downpipe.

Just shows, you shouldnt take anything on the net at face value, especially dicking about with your engine when the person giving the advice isnt sure what theyre doing.

Excellent, open up all the ports, the bigger the better right?
