Rear axle after lowering

    Ive been speaking to a couple of people, and have come across a problem with Saxo rear axles. Something to do with the stress lowering puts on it over a certain amount, it has been causing the rear axles to break. Apparently there is a massive waiting list at a lot of citroen dealers and scrappies for replacement axles. I was wondering if anyone could shed any light on what is a safe limit for lowering and what the technical reason for it? cheers for any help!!

    most people say dont go lower that 40mm and get it lowered properly not by notches

    If its done properly it shouldnt matter how low you go.

    thats the problem, even if it is done properly, there is something to do with the stress of lowering put on the rear axle that causes a weak spot to buckle, just wondering if anybody has any knowledge on the subject?
