BE3 GEARBOX

i am after a be3 gearbox does anyone know where i can get one and how much they are.do they bolt straight on.i was told fitting this will make the speedo not work and no one has found out how to get it working

No the BE3 gearbox does not fit straight on. Also it is true that there hasnt been a solution to the speedo so far. BE3 can be found in a few cars from 205's to 306's and some 406's from what im aware. BUT its not just that, you will need either custom or Pugsport shafts which are far from cheap.

For WestyVTR the BE3 gear box is a far stronger box than the TU papermache box, people want to fit it to stop the gearbox exploding from high power and torque and in some cases it takes out the clutch and all manner of other things around it.

You're talking between 1-2k if not more. You can buy the bell housing off tms. Custom shafts like mentioned cost up to 300 each alone. And also if you were going to go at this you might as well include lsd and decent clutch so you will be talking close on £3k. I'd only see it's point on t/c or s/c cars with high torque and that dont want their £500 clutch get taken out with the MA box as mentioned by scott too.

the car is already supercharged.just got a price off tms for supply+fit,for gearbox,driveshafts,lsd,clutch etc.£3200

Sounds about what they're going for. GMC one is around the same price. You could always get the bell housing off TMS(£600 odd), get a second hand BE3 gearbox(£200 odd or less maybe), Quaife diff (£490 odd), AP clutch or equivalent (£400 upwards), and get custom shafts made and assemble it all yourself if you have the know how with these type of things. Will end up costing you not far off £2k probably. What power you running? Enough to suffice this or is it you just want reliability?

You want to run 240 at wheels or you are running that? Well for that you definately need either uprated MA or better again BE3. If not then you'll run through standard boxes for fun.

for race use you will need the c/r gear kit as well as an lsd

it all comes in the kit that i am getting
