Rear Torsion Bar

  1. #1
    Hey, sorry if I totally offend anyone but i've searched abit and found nothing that helps me completely but anyway.
    I'm looking to lower my Saxo between 35 and 50. I have been told I can do springs at the front and torsion bar at the back, is this true? I have also been told NOT to do the torsion bar myself. if I were to fit new shorter shocks front and rear as well as springs front and rear would this mean the torsion bar can stay the same?
    I don't really know what i'm doing with this and don't want to f*** it up. Can anyone recommend any good kits to drop around 40-50ish and also how hard it is to do myself/how much a garage should charge, I have decent mechanical knowledge but don't like the idea of dieing just yet.

    Thanks =]

    Yep thats right you need lowering springs at the front and torsion adjusted at the back

    Kam racing does a good deal on lowering springs

    http://www.kam-racing.com/product_in...products_id/85

    Then you just need to book in your car at the garage should'nt cost no more then £100 to fit springs and adjust torsion i would say

    Ok but if I just got shorter shocks on the back I wouldn't need to touch the torsion bar no? Just from what i've heard they're a real pain to adjust and make the whole rear end sloppy, is this true? I don't mind paying out 2-300 quid for a full set of springs and dampers to lower it if it's gunna be worth it, just asking people with experience.

    No mate, i'm from Durham, near Newcastle and cheers everyone for the quick replies, found nothing but good people on here so far.

    shocks are easy, should be about 10mins per side
