mk1 or mk2

hey just wandering what bhp does the mk1 vts have compared to the mk2 vts? and whats the difference in torque? i heard that the mrk1 vts is higher on both

Both identical mate, only difference is the later MK2s have a three plug ECU instead of a 1 plug ECU the MK1 and early MK2 come with, apparently if you do some reasonably high end tuning like uprated cams and a remap, the 1 plugs gain more power, but only by 5-10 brake

    both the same.

only difference is new vts after late 2000 i think had 3 plug ecu

ok cheers guys. so both would have exactly the same outputs then

    standard yes

real men must also paint there nails you homo

as said above early engine has 1 plug ecu and later has 3 plug ecu with an egr valve, all something to do with emmission laws that come into place

early mark2's came with the single plug engine, till around 2001 i think

    there talkin vts's mate not vtr's. The mk1 vtr is 90bhp and mk2 98bhp i think

not all mk2's have 98. some have the phase 2 engine, only the phase 3 engines have 98bhp. thats on vtrs.

    i thought the mk2 was 100?

nah 98 read faq in performance section dont spam the tread sorry for the hijack

the later vts's also have a EGR valve (Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve) sorry about the spelling but they all have the same power which is 120 bhp

ibe heard the mark 1 bts are faster 0 - 60 due to a value restricting the engine? unsure whether this is true or not as never had a vts!
