Been debating getting these for a while. Sometimes i think they look good and other times i think they look tacky. Does anyone on here have them?? either side lights or headlights. What are peoples views on them?? and are they legal??

Are you talking about HID kits or xenon bulbs? I have xenon bulbs in my headlights and they are really good. They give a nice crisp white light and are of course totally legal

HID bulbs are illegal to fit in a Halogen headlight unit and have so since 1989. You can be fined and can also get points. Also not it will invalidate your insurance if fitted. If you’re talking direct fit Halogen Xenon bulbs as sold by Halfords they are legal yes. Some of them work very well in clear conditions though tend not to be so good in rain, fog and snow.

Fitting Xenon HID bulbs to the Saxo lamp units is illegal and you can get finned and/or points for it. If a accident can be contributed to you having them fitted you can also be held responsible for said accident. Also fitting them invalidates your insurance so you are not covered. If were nitpicking the police can actually do you for driving with out insurance as well.

As for what is legal that is any halogen H4 bulb that holds the relevant E markings. Most of these so called Xenon bulbs are really just halogen bulbs playing on the name but they are still legal.
