As in title. what do you all rekon is best.

    lets seen some ideas.

I prefer TB's mainly due to the amazing noise they make!

    Supercharger:

Plusses = gives a massive power gain is relatively friendly on the gearbox and rest of the car, is very controllable and is good valve Hp increase per £. Very reliable and durable for a given power level

Negatives = they tend to work out as quite an expensive conversions (though can more than make up for it if you are going for big power)

    Turbocharger

Plusses = massive power gain and works out stunning valve with a massive Hp increase per £.

Negatives = If you go for mega power they are not gearbox friendly and do tend to be a hand full to drive relatively speaking (I am talking power beyond what you would ever get from normally aspirated tuning)

    Throttle bodies

Plusses = basic setup can be relatively cheap and is controllable.

Negatives = very poor value giving very small Hp increases per £. Only very small power gains available. Engine life decreases exponentially with revs and so normally aspirated engine life is short for a given power output. Short power hands make the need for expensive gearboxs if you are going for significant power through normal aspersion.

What sort of figures are we talking for the 3?

    Cost - power

what spec? how much you got to spend? what power do you want? PM me i can tell you nearly everything you'll want to know about tbs...

It depends what your looking for from it aswell.
I like turbos for the fact i love the sound and the instant kick you get when it comes in, but on the against that kick also kicks your gearbox.
Both blowers need new engine internals realy as biggains are possible.
Throttle bodies are asways a good option as you can get descent power gains from smaller parts added with them. Jp's your man for them and if it was me on a saxo engine i would go TB to start with.

just turbo it and get it over and done with

Rush, your getting more power out of the engine. Whatever you do to the engine your reducing its life, as your pushing things harder and harder. But with filtration i would imagine a tb'd engine should be fine to go and go.

With 708's and tb's i.e. like my engine i'd imagine it will be fine for 75-100k, if not more...

I think he was refering to the fact that if you rev your engine 500revs more than the normal redline, the exponential curve of engine wear moves along the y axis. Just as an example, if your engine was "going" to last another 50k. revving it to 8000rpm for 30secs, make reduce that to 40k. if that makes sense.
