HID + Cops?

Anyone been pulled for having HID's?

Just put my 8000k's in and they look amazing, so much clearer, no ones flashed me so i'm guessing they aren't getting blinded, seeing as every headlight that goes by seems to blind me.

bit of a bugger you have morrettes, but my beam seems to be really blotchy, not a smooth soft reflection on ground but very square and not really symmetrical, anyone know why? or just wrong type of lens?

Simply put its illegal and don’t do it. If the cops ever do pull you for anything they will just use them as a reason to do you any how.

You are using totally the wrong bulbs for the lamp you are using. Also the higher temp HID light always gives poor colour contrast perception and differentiation.

Just had a friendly chat with the police. Normally they issue a fixed penalty notice or a vehicle defect notice on your first offence. If you do the same think again they will prosecute you. Apparently the officer I talked to hands out such penalties frequently. He also commented he is shocked at how may people reoffend. He also commented that the regulations are very complicated and no officer knows the ins and outs of them all.

quite lucky i'm friendly with all the cops around here, i'll wait until they say something, as they will all take me aside and tell me if somethings wrong before slapping a fine on me. The lights are really nice to drive with, makes road signs easier to read.

You should use a standard 55w bulb for that. For best visibility in fog, rain and/or snow I would recommend a selective yellow bulb often call all season or winter vision bulbs.

They are not Xenon HID as they say as they are. Looks like a bit of a con man is selling them. There just none road legal 100w halogen bulbs. If you do fit them be careful as you are going to be way overloading the wiring system on your car.

im not to bothered just wanted some brighter lights plus both of mine have blown.. how will they over load my wiring? me and my mate have both got 100w headlights and they haven't done anything and work nicely so i dont see how it will do anything to my fogs

I have a hid light on my mountain bike, the police dont seem to mind, however, i still seem to hit as many trees as when i used a halogen system. my advise would be to stick with standard bulbs, theyre cheaper!
