Raceland Problem!

  1. #1
    Right guys need some help,

ive recivied my raclenad manifold for the vtr from kam racing and it is currently getting fitted.

however when the aligned it up with the engine all the far left and 2nd left bolt were not correctly in line.

they have had to drill new holes to make it fit, this is before they fit an extention to the lambada sensor becuase that does not reach it position.

    anybody else had any problems?

i havent had anything back from kam as yet but wuld like to no whats going on.

    thanks alex.

The bolts should line up! If not then the manifold is at fault! You sure its not cus the oil filter is obstructing it?

With regards to the lambda sensor, you need to feed it down the back of the engine bay on top of the gearbox. But it will reach without extending it!

the lambada sensor wont reach weve tried every way down the engine and it seems as if it connects is the wrong side.

the manifold was definatley off, i can get the company to vouch for that he showed me and the final bolt was a not alligned straight like the rest of them.

im thinking manufacturer fault, im trying to get in touch with kam but no luck so far.

Have you pulled the lambda off the plastic clip that holds it to that bracket thing near the airbox?
  5. #5
You just have to unclip the lambda from the engine then you will have more cable.

cheers mate, ill let them know.

hi guys i got the same problem to went to have mine fitted and i was like eh no all you do is unclip it i think teh garage was been thick.

to unclip it you mean the green plug that is connected to the engine bay yeh?
green plug on one side has the lambda and on the other side the cable goes to the main wireing loom?

I really need to know this asap as i got told from the garage to buy a blacking nut and a washer to seal off the hole on the raceland so id not have a lambda on and my engine management light would stay on.and i refuse to do that to my saxo as it will run like a bag of shit and most prob over fuel the system.

I'm sure it's a red and black block, you pull the little red bit and it releases.

maybe they sent the wrong manifold?? dont see why that aint an option
  10. #10
nah uve deffo got the right manifold.

I had the exact same problems with mine, must of been a dodgy batch.

The holes wouldnt line up properly, but with a bit of fiddling we did it. And then extended the lambda wire to fit!

Are the raceland manifolds any good? I would have to get a cat back exhaust though to pass MOT though right?
  12. #12
The raceland would get rid of the cat [assuming its a later mk2 vtr] so you'd fail on emmissions unless you refitted a cat...
  13. #13
Can you not have a cat with the raceland? Or any other aftermarket manifold?
And yeah its a 51 reg VTR
  14. #14
my saxo has the mk1 engine in so cat is under the car

mk2's cat is part of the downpipe basicly.

Dannyc where did you get your cable from to extend your lmbda wire?

We wouldn't normally stock a product with an inconsistant quality but for the fact that they still perform really well. Not sure how though

The holes sometimes need opening up a little to get the manifold to fit onto the studs correctly.
