smoothing bonnet / bumper

   I am about to start work removing my plug badge and smoothing it, just wondering what is the best way to smooth the bumper? is it a case of building it up with fibre fill and putty or is there a better way to do it? i imagine the bonnet to be easy enough to do, just the bumpers a big space to fill.
   
   sorry if this is already out there and iv just not found it
   
   mybe someone can put me in the diro of a previous post ?
