hey was jus wondering does the wolfrace induction kit make a gud sound with no power loss? and also which is best out of the Wolfrace kit or the K&N cone filter or a pipercross foam filter to get best noise and maybe slight increase in performance, if not no performance loss? thanks. jim

#2look it the faq in engines and performance section lots of stuff in there

#3Hi matey, the pipercross foam cone filter is very loud!! but you dont gain any bhp!!....
-
#4if you use any you just listed then move them to the front of the engine or you will get heat soak off them all and loose power
-
#5ahh how would i go about movin em to front?? ant had much experince with engines lol
-
#6You need a metal induction pipe, then a length of flexy cold air feed pipe.

#7If you have an open 'cone' filter then its going to suck in the hot air from the engine bay and decrease power.
By getting an enclosed system - BMC, raceland etc then you may see a rise in horses.
If you want it purely for noise then go for an open. The enclosed will be much quieter.
up to you -
#9yeah a mate has a piper x and it is v loud. but it doesnt get much of a cold air feed
-
#10me personally, would put power before noise...so i would always opt for the enclosed kits insted of the open ones....
BMC is good although expensive
Raceland with green filter is cheap and cheerful
BMC imo get my vote as its a solid unit..not need to faf on with fitment unlike the raceland one -
#11anyone got the the pipercross venom sealed kit?? if so whats sound and performance gains like? as ive had search around and this one seems quite good

thats the kit i was on about any gud? and is it easy to fit?? thanks. jim -
#12Ive got the pipercross x cone
Along with decat under the car and a large back box and exhaust its real loud.My neighbours can hear me from quarter mile away if im flooring it late at night.
Only downside i find is a slight loss in power below 4000 rpm, and also a loud droning between 3000 and 4000 rpm which gets a bit deafening on long journeys! -
#13ahh i see fink im guna go for the raceland with green filter now
-
#14pipercross cones are good man, I get a sweet sound outta it and I havent changed owt on my exhaust yet. Pulls like a bitch too

#15gets heat soak tho dont they the pipercross the racelands are temptin me quite a bit
