Help with 1.1 forte ideas

  1. #1
    Hey guys,

I have a 1.1 forte and Im thinking of doing some minor modifications, but I dont want to do anything irreversible, or too boy-racer-ish, lol. Im thinking of descrete under-car neons and new wheel trims, but other than that Im lost for thought. Any ideas as to what small changes can cheaply change the look and feel of the car?

    thanks

    new rear lights..
Interior mods, such as gearknob, gaiter, spraying etc
    bee sting aerial
    Mesh grille.
    exhaust backbox.

would go for alloy wheels instead of wheel trims, and pretty much what al said and lowering! all can be reversed!

The interior is quite cool at the mo, I have a black and silver dash, with leather gear gaiter and a chrome gear-knob. What do you mean by spraying?

Can you get a backbox that is discrete? what is the effect other than noise, I know alot of boy-racers have them so it makes a big noise when they rev, I kind of want to avoid that sort of thing. What is a bee sting arial? Sorry for not knowing much about the saxo, I never really looked into this sort of thing before I got the car.

    Thanks for your help

bee sting aerial is a shorter than standard aerial. Kind of stubby style.
you can get discreet backboxes. for example the 3 inch magnex backbox is not too OTT..
and by spraying I mean, colour plastic bits of your interior, but painting them spray can styleee.

Cool, does the backbox have any performance benefits or does it make the engine sound a little more RRR when you rev with going over the top? Because that would be the type of thing I was looking for. Are there any internet suppliers you could direct me to?

Ive seen some interiors in which the owner has coloured the coverings of the air vents silver while the actuacl strips infront of the heater are still black, that and the combined silver parts of the dash (much the same design as my interior) looked really stunning. Is the a set you can buy or do you go to a professional?

Thanks for your patience with my questions, lol.

you can do them your self with spray paint, laquer and plastic primer, which can all be bought from halfords!

the vents just pop out as there are a few clips which hold them in! and yeah the outside comes free and the middle of them can be seperated so you can leave them black!.

check out demon tweeks or GSMotorsport.com for the back box!

Thanks. Do you have any opinion about under car LED sets? I was thinking of installing a basic blue kit made by varad, its not too much to buy and the effect looks quite cool.

    What do you think?

    Thanks

Ive got multi-colour undercar LED lighting. I think its great, but alot of people will think that rather boy-racerish. And if thats what you are trying to avoid, then I dont think it would be for you.
Personally, I love them ! but others have different opinions. If you like them, go for them !

I think they would be cool, but just a basic, on or off. How do you set them up? do you have the controls on your dashboard? Do they have a huge power demand, or will I not really notice the difference?

Power is fine.. just have them on a switch that goes off with the ignition.
they just literally attach to each other, then power and earth and you are away.

Thats my control box infront of the gearlever.

Cool. Can you have them on a switch independant to everything else?

I was wondering, other than the magnex, which back-boxes are discreet because I havent yet been able to find a 3inch magnex that will fit a 1.1, they're all for at least 1.4

How much would I be looking at for a good make and installation?

    Thanks

My old ones were on a little switch on the dash.

Have you thought about looking into getting a powerflow exhaust backbox. As they start from around £120 fitted. and can customise noise and you can choose what tailpipe design you like.

Cool, Thanks. I'm waiting to hear if I've got a job at the mo, if I have I'll start with some of these ideas. You've been a great help, thnx. I'll post some pics when I'm done.

    Thanks
