4-1 manifold (please help)

    hey,
I just got a piper manifold which arrived today and it looks top quality coz its stainless but i must have read the website wrong coz I just noticed its a 4-1 manifold not a 4-2-1,

its for a 2002 saxo vtr so was wondering wots the difference between the two and which 1 is better. And i read a 4-1 manifold can hit the floor on lowered cars which mine is.

Also I read somewhere with some manifolds you hav to move your oil filter so does any1 know if this is true and and if so is it a big job.

    thanks

if you ordered a new piper manifold then you shouldn't have to move / adjust the oil filter.

Personally I wouldn't worry about better / worse than a 4-2-1. Its much better than the standard one so fit it and enjoy

yeah pipers are 4-1. you woudnt notice the diff between them so just fit that one

manifold is a manifold, as was said above u wont notice the difference

ive got a 4-2-1 and mine hits the floor on bumps, so it isnt exclusive to the 4-1! lmao just be very careful as it will flatten your manifold very easily so go very slow!

cool, that helps alot i wasnt to worried about it been a 4-1 instead of a 4-2-1 but really can do wivout having to adjust the oil filter so if it fits straight on thats a relief.
it will be decatted aswell coz its a mk2 and already got a straight through after that as rest of system is a stainless wiv no middle silencer so just gonna get a performance cat for mot in july.
should i notice the difference to performance when i fit it at the end of the week coz looking forward to it lmao.

you will notice the difference, and the sound all adds to the excitment

you will see a gain in performance i would have thought

with other breathing mods...will sound amazing aswell

well already got a enclosed green induction kit and as i said above a straight through system, will be getting a remap straight away after manifold.

still not totally convinced on the oil filter subject as read where a few other people have asked the same question and different people keep sayin different things so does any1 know if i would have to move oil filter on a mk2 coz my mate has a mk1 and i took a look 2nite and filters r in different places

    thanks

i think your ok with a mk2...dont hold that against me though! lol

where did you hear that? dont go putting doubt in the poor lads mind! lol

    a 4-1 is fine....4-2-1 is better....

ive always assumed a 4-1 is a manifold that should be used on 'charged' cars...and a 4-2-1 on a N/A car...

I hav done some technical measuring wiv a tape measure lmao and it seems i wont hav to move my oil filter.
but i noticed my new manifold only has 1 hole 4 a sensor which i assume is 4 the 1 on the down pipe as its near the bottom but my standard manifold has two sensors (1 on top going through a hold in the heat sheild), i fink the top sensor is just for the fan but wot wud i do wiv this sensor.
