Quickshifts??

what are the different types of quick shifts are there? i like the one with the aluminium casing which you can see in replace of your gaitor, but can you get the kits were you get the gear stick with it and not just using your own?

B&M TAZ style one is the one with the solid gaitor
there is a B&M one that just replaces the standard stick iirc

Griffiths - you just fit inbetween the gear linkages

theres a few types mate

ones with the sticks, ones without and ones that fit in between the linkages

EDIT beaten to it but marks is more detailed so ill let you off

im confused lol, i want a solid gaiter which is a polished look, and i want the stick to go which is polished look, can i get that? or is it just the gaitor or the linkages i can get?

its not the griffiths group buy its the x-sport one, there linkages, should improve the shifts even further

the b&m one looks like this and yes it comes with the colalrs etc

think its the only one that comes with the stick though mate

the other you can just use your standard stick

so actually if your wanting the polished look ones go with thi and use the standard stick

thats a taz style. your standard gear stick will also look like that. you just need to put a knob on it. ie pred

so what part of pic above the the taz style? the solid gaitor? as i thought it was B&M??

Also i thought standard stick was a goldy colour? and it doesnt bend like that one does it?

the bnm is the stick and knob. the gaitor style is the taz. my stick is silver.

pic of it with a momo knob. tell a lie it does look gold lol. unless thats the bnm on a taz gaitor

anyone know for certain? I can see what you mean by taz style being the solid gaitor, and i can see that is your standard stick with knob on it, as mine is goldy colour so anyone know were to get a silver stick like i had shown a pic of above?

Try MED engineering (can't remember if they've got a web-site). They make them for the 205, but also do 106/Saxo ones, even though they don't advertise. When I bought mine, I think they were about £40 each.

I do have a spare, but waiting to see whether it's needed to clinch the deal on my Saxo sale.

standard gear stick (gold)

quickshift stick (no gaitor) looks like the tas style polished bottm section is hard to get hold of on net

here you go gaz but you only need this if your not going to use the b&m one i think so you wouldnt need the polished stick

that pic look good as he has the polished gaitor along with the polished stick, and id put a polished knob on it making it a nice touch rather than the horrible standard gold 1

Pretty sure with abit of wet n dry and a tub of brasso you could have yours silver, sure its just a coating that could be sanded off, don't quote me though...

That pic you posted belongs to lewis, hes on ssc as darksaxo i think. pm him will be the easiest thing to do.

That looks like a GMC quick shift (big shiney bit at the bottom) and maybe a quaife gearknob? As for the silver stick i dont know. Gold does me fine. The red bit looks like something for lift up reverse or line lock maybe?

not seen the GMC quick shift but it looks like the compbrake one we do.

that to me apears to be the kam quick shift and a b&m stick with quaife bits added if u ask me kams kit and new links will more than do the job

you cant put a b&m with a "kam" compbrake one.. its pointless... as you would need to destroy the b&m to fit it in the compbrake one.

tis true lol yeh from second looks the first pics is gold under the red anodise lip so obviously its a comp brake and standrad leaver with quaife hanndle

Just to throw another question into the party, is there any way of getting the quaife knob, which comes with threaded end, onto the standard stick?

Yes I have just fitted one today.
You have to cut all the plastic off back to the metal and that is 12mm so order the 12mm gear knob, you have to use a m12 1.75 die to put a thread on it, this is very hard because the metal is so hard and my hands now hurt because of this.

Also i noticed that the normal gearstick is silver underneath the gold coating so it could just be sanded back and the brasso'd up, for a nice silver shine.
