Engine drop...

    Just toying with an idea.... I want to look down the channel of dropping an audi 1.8t engine into my vtr... Im askin for technical help: will the engine actually fit? has it been (successfully) attempted before, what were the complications (if any) and rough cost. im not too clued up on engine conversions, so any and all (decent) info would be muchly appreciated.

    1.8t has been done in a clio. and that was a tight fit, doubt it would fit to easily in a saxo shell, although a 2.0L XU lump does and that is a bigger unit than the VAG irc.

    Speak to companies like gmc, pug1off, pug performance and ask them for a qoute, but unless you have several K about i suggest you return to earth now

    Yeah, that's going to be pricy and is going to take a lot of modification to mounts, drive train etc. You'll be better off spending some money on a forced induction TU5J2/4 engine IMHO.
