Parts

The other month my engine fell out of my bay due to all 3 engine bolts sheering off. Basically the car needed all 3 drivers side new engine bolts, a new drivers side driveshaft and a throttle cable.

Could anyone shed any light on how much that should have cost me in parts, i just want to see if i was priced fairly.

    Thank you

I reckon around £100-£120 mark. rough guess, driveshaft £80, cable £25, bolts somewhere between £5-£10 ish.(for the 3)

Crikey, i was charged £120 i think for the driveshaft and then £80 was the rest of the bolts and cable.
Basically my gf's dad did the work for me and he said he'd only charge me for parts and i kept saying no i'd like to pay full price please inc. labour. After lots of banter he said no i'll only charge you for parts.
When i got the bill it was £200 and that was no labour charges and i thought it sounded rather steep for parts but wsn't sure so was curious to see if anyone had paid for these bits and pieces before.

Crikey, unless he bought the driveshaft straight from citroen, the price i put down was from gsf (german swedish & french). Did you get a receipt cus if it was new parts then he would have receipts kept back for warranty purposes.

If there not new genuine parts then thats pretty steep for just parts only imo.

Yeah i have a receipt/bill but all it rally says is

    Bolts & T Cable £80

    Labour £0

and then scribbled across the whole page it says labour not charged.

hmmm, does sound abit expensive to be honest. Aslong as the job is a good one then really all you can do is live with it and get someone else to do it next time maybe lol.
