WHY de-pin if you have alarm?

Im just wondering but isnt it better you dont de pin the doors if you have an alarm, so that when theives unlock the doors the alarm would go off. However if you de pin, first thing they will do is bosh in the window?

    depends on the alarm...

some are motion sensitive so smashing the window will set it off

still if u have an alarm, y not still depin as its jus adding extra security to the car

If you have an alarm theres no need for them atall. If you want to get out when the engines running you just press a button on the fob, cant think why youd want them mate

tbh its been the cheapest and quickest mod iv done and also by far the most satisfying knowing that if thievs wanna get into my car now they will have to make a lot of noise which i will hear

Surely not Unless your car is on your drive way ALL the time. When its parked somewhere like the town centre or a car park, if theives see something they want in the car, or want to take it for a ride usual approach seeing as its a saxo is to slim jim it with some sort of hook, so they do that and the toad alarm goes off. However if its de pinned, they see they cant do that so an alternative to get in is to smash the window (which costs) anyone see where im going with this?

yeah i do. but smashing a window makes ahell of a lot of noise. and i tend not to leave my car in an unsecured car park with anything of value on show.

still i think depinning the doors is a great mod and that every saxo owner should do it with or without an alarm.

at the end of the day even if u have an alarm and someone wanna break in they still will so its a lose lose situation really

put dont saxos have an imobiliser so the car cant be started without the key. correct me if im wrong as i know bugger all about how cars work

But its not lol if theives want to go for a spin, they open the door with the door pin from the outside and the alarm goes off, so if its a decent alarm that wont stop they oviously have no choice but to leg it. What i basically mean is that your better of them openign the door and your alarm goes of - than them not being able to get in becuase its depinned, so they brake a window.

(btw answer to your question i think some saxos come standard with alarm and immobiliser but you have to buy a remote engine start kit)

but hopefully no one will break into my car (touch wood) and also i always leave my car in a secured car park or garage which is alarmed.

well does anyone else no what i mean or am i thinking of things the wrong way?

nah i see wat u mean and it all makes sense. but none of us hope our cars never get broke into anyway.

i jus decided to de pin my car because it adds extra security as citroen didnt really notice how easy it is to get into a saxo. and at the moment i cant afford an alarm

its all to do with extra security tbh

plus more theives (if they have half a brain cell) wouldnt smash the window as it makes a hell of a noise and if they stole it, it would be obvious to ppl who saw it, due to it having a smashed window...

There is 2 ways to think about this really and your not grasping the point of it all tbh!

Yea ok dont de-pin your door, if they want to be in they will just lift the pins get in and set the alarm off, altho if its in a busy town centre etc, car alarms go off alot of the time, and only takes a few seconds to disconect an alarm these days, and yea if they do run you dont have any money to fork out, maybe a little on body repairs at the most

Say you do de-pin your doors, a theif will more than likely try another car as it would be easyier, and if they do break the window like already said it makes more noise and if you have any decent alarm it will still set the alarm off.

Like i said anyways, it isnt hard to dissconect an alarm these days ( i no a few proffesionals) But its just an extra deterant at the end of the day, if it looks easy they will do it, and what would you rather pay for???

Money to replace the goods stolen from your car in a quick smash and grab?

Or try and work out how the spend the insurance pay out after its been stolen and found burnt out?

    Think about that one!

    Karl out..
