Other manufacturer's alloys

Hope this is a reasonable question, just that I'm a bit technically 'new' to modifying.

Are other manufacturers 'standard' alloys interchangeable between cars? is it 'possible', just hard/expensive? or just a plain no.

Example: I'm thinking that my saxo would look sexy with 206 GTI 180 wheels. Has this been done before?! i've not seen it...but I'm not scared of trying something new!!

    Cheers, Mikey B

Not all wheels are interchangeable. Different cars will have different hub positions, requiring different offset's on the rims. Similarly, different manufacturers use different bolt hole spacing called the PCD.

Do a search for both these terms and you should find plenty of info.

FWIW, most Peugeot and Citroens use the same offset (IIRC between ET15 and ET18) so are interchangeable. I'm pretty sure 206 wheels would fit (I know the Nimrods do) but it's worth searching to see if anyone's done it before.
