Best coilovers

Right then, just wondering what are your opinions on the best suspension to go for, i was thinking of going 60mm alround on coilovers but who makes the best kits?
  2. #2
Billies are the best ones matey, but there not cheap to buy!!!...
  3. #3
how much would you like to spend? Approx £11K for WRC spec which is pretty good kit

For mere mortals there are many other decent kits available. If you want to obtimise handling you should ignore the lowering amount and concentrate on getting a quality shock and spring combo

Ahh right i was always told that 60mm gave the best of both worlds gave the best looks and handling

I believe around 35mm drop is about the maximum should you want to maximise handling.

lol at 60mm being the optimum.

optimum if you want bumpsteer and a dangerous rear

to true just ask my mate in his corsa who found that out last week LMAO.

all this crap about lower it is the more it handles like a go kart rubbish lol

when you lower you reduce the travel available. Hit a bump - no travel in the suspension - hello bottoming out, hello rear end skipping on the bumps (due to no travel)

and hello bump steer due to the track rods running at dodgy angles!

    WINNAR---i think not.

alot of the uber low kits dont have hard enough springs and shocks to deal with it

the optimum to lower a saxo is whatever it takes to get wishbones/driveshafts/steering arms all parrallel with the road. mine is now all level apart from steering arms so im going to move them lower to reduce bump steer.

Ok then so what is the best height to go to give best handling
  11. #11
Mine handles great on corners at top speeds!! mine is only 40mm....
  12. #12
all this rear end skipping out an that...this is at speeds of how much?? (about)
  13. #13
    80 plus maybe
  14. #14
ok thats fine...speed limit 35 over here so wont be hitting that with loads of corners!!
    cheers
  15. #15
shit me...yer well i shuld be alright seeing as i wont be hitting much more than 50ish at any time....not even on the roads yet lol test in less than 2 weeks (Y) cant wait to drive the vtr

How low are you mate and what kit you using
  17. #17
im not sure on how low it is but it looks about 35mmish at the font and 40mm at the rear.its a d/t(demon tweeks) kit, with custom springs and billie group n inserts.

Sounding like a Noob here Danny but what dampers/shocks combo would you go for as i need a decent setup before Rockingham?

Heard good things about Billies but need spot on dampers so the ride and feel is stiffer and sharper with less flex (new polyrace bushes all round and a few other choice mods are coming already )

Can Saxo's also have some type of rear brace fitted aswell or do you have to thicken the torsion/ARB's up?
