Im looking for looks on my car really, looking to lower it about 60mm all around although i dont want it to handle rubbish.

Been looking at some coilover kits on ebay. These any good?

I'm not a fan of cheap coilovers as their performance is lacking. If looks are more important then those will be fine.

someone said they had the jamex kit and found it was to soft.

gmax prob wont be much better.

if you just wanna lower it 60mm then just get springs and a good set of shocks.

IMO, 35mm is the max drop you should go for if you want handling, but handling is not only down to the shocks and springs.

Coilovers are generally for those wanting to throw there car round a track, i have run coilovers on all my track cars, never heard of JAMEX though i must admit.

Those are about the same price as a decent set of shocks, they may be great, could be aweful though.

    DO NOT BUY JAMEX COILOVERS

I had some on my vtr and they were off within a week and i got my money back (when they got round to it, eventually). They told me they could lower the car by upto 120mm (im going for the slammed look), and i double checked that with them plenty of times.Once on the car they only lowered it about 70/80mm and they were virtually on the bumpstops.

If you can imagine, if the car was SAT on the bumpstops it would be a bumpy ride, but because it wasnt quite but very close, everytime you hit a pebble... BANG!

Just not a good kit in my experience, save up more and get a proper decent kit, it's what i plan on doing!

ps. got mine off ebay too

Just so you know aswell, at one point i rang the proper Jamex distributors in the uk, and they said the Gmax coilovers are the same kit as Jamex. That said, the Gmax 60mm springs i currently run are fine

You get what you pay for if you ask me.

They are both round the £250 mark. theres a set of bilstein b8's in the for sale thread for that price. much better.
