Is it true it is now illegal to completely de-lock and de-handle your car?

I want to go for the COMPLETELY smooth look and wanted to get shot of the locks and handles but ive been told it is now illegal

I beleive its illegal to de-handle now as in a emergency there is no way of opening your car doors from the outside.

not illegal as long as there is a way to get the door open from the outside. e.g. TVR's have smooth doors but have a button under the door mirror. so if you do get the doors completely smoothed, make sure there is a button somewhere to open the door from the outside.

yeah ive heard the same, as long as there is a manual way of getting the door open eg door pop switch under wing mirror then i think its ok.
