Transplant Advice Needed

    Hi there

At the moment I have a 1999 VTS pretty much standard performance wise other than a exhaust system

The thing is i need the car everyday but i want to put cams and throttle bodies on it so I was thinking............. would it be possible to look out for a low milage VTS lump, do all the work on it and when it is finished just swap the engines over ??? then do he remap etc

If i were to do this i would want a lower milage engine as mine has 80k on the clock

Is that possible or does the engine have to be in the car ??

    Many thanks in advance

    Ben

The best way of doing it is to do all the work with the engin eout of the car. Its the easiest way imo, and you still have a car while your doing it!

If i were you i'd look out for one with lower mileage that 80k. Go for sub 40,000 if you can. It will pay off...

yea as sad thats probably the best way to do it

means your not working in the restictions of the engine bay
and i you do run into problems it doesnt leave you carless

    so yea go for it
