1.4 westcoast to vtr (engine swap advice)

    Hello all,

    my saxo westcoast 1999 engine has blown !

    anyway i was wondering if i could drop a VTR engine into with out to many problems ? what else apart from the gearbox would i have to change ?

    ECU ?
    Fuel Pump ?
    Loom ?

    Any help / tips / advice very welcome, plus rep !

    1)vts lump
    2)s1 gearbox

    as long as you get a single plug which i think the westy is then it should jsut plug and play? im sure somone will back me up here with more indetdh tech.

    You pretty much need everything mate. engine, unlocked ecu, loom, fuel system

    i put vts for a reason, a vtr swop isnt worth it for the extra 20 youd probly spend on the lump in the long run youd regret it.

    iam only 17 so couldnt afford the insurace on a VTS lump !

    its not worth it bud... save up and wait to get a VTS or mod your westie with the cash you have!

    silvertop is pretty much plug and play but since your 17 save your cash pal and get some nice seats for your interior!

    treat yourself to a nice TV at home etc. dont waste it on extra insurance premiums!!!!!
