    My VTS is broken

Yep i was out with my mates yesturday, bomb'd it down this ring round, when i got home i heard this knocking noise, lifted the bonnet and the noise was louder, when i rev the car the knocking noise speeds up. Now im thinking when i bomb'd it down the ring round im guessing the valve didnt sit properly or something i dont know im not a mechcanic, but what i do know is im getting a compression test later on the cyclinders. If anyone else has or solved this problem please let me know ASAP.

    Thanks,
    Wayne

Could be lots of things really. If u hit any pot holes or bumps could be a engine mount as the same thing happened with me and got it checked by 3 different mechanics which all told me different problems and even when they checked the engine mount didnt find the fault at first. Is it worst at around 2-3 thousand rpm and a metalic noise with slight vibration coz thats wot mine was.
could be cyclinders like you said but could be big end or main bearings (but lets hope not) but my advice is to check the simple things first

Looking on different websites and the knocking actually increases as the engine speed increases as well, so im thinking of cam followers that are f**ked!

do a compression test, i had a similar thing, except the piston rod had snaped, and was knocking in my sump.

LOL you wouldnt believe this if i told you but the car has been fixed and it turned out that what was causing the knocking was a loose spark plug LOL

so no more panic about cost lol.
