I'm sorry this is about in the forum but I couldnt find much when I tried and I dont get much time to search on the net.

I want to service my car but i'm abit of novice when working on my car.

Please could anybody tell me the parts and part numbers I need to service and also some how-to info or pics would be amazing. I recently seen a fuel filter guide which looks good so maybe some info on spark plugs etc?

Just go to somewhere like GSF car parts or Eurocarparts tell them what model of saxo you have & ask for a service kit.

important things to remeber when ordering parts are make model and the mileage the vehicle has covered m8.. to do the spark plugs you have to remove the coil pack which i think are 10mm bolts.. once there off the coil pack will lift up and reveal the spark plugs.. best thing to get them out is a 16mm spark plug socket (magnetic one or one with rubber in) then combine this with a extension bar (prefferably a non wobble one) then attach this to a ratchet you will then need to set the ratchet to anti clockwise to undo them then put the socket over the spark plug so uve got a nice tight fit then racthet.. when your putting the spark plugs in use a spark plug tool or your hand if you can reach to get them started a few threads.. then tighten them up hand tight.. if you have a torque wrench available to you torque them up afterwards...

as for changing your oil.. your best bet is to run the car to warm the oil up.. this way it drains alot quicker.. once the engine is warm and turned off remove the oil cap this also helps it drain quicker.. if you have a eco friendly oil filter (the paper kind, rather than the metal screw on one..) you will need to losen this off.. its located near the manifold in a black plastic housing and usually around a large size socket 27mm maybe 30mm? so losen that your next job is to get under the car with a draning tray and undo the sump bolt.. once this is removed it will piss out oil... once the oil is fully drained.. remove your filter and re fit your new one and rubber rings (if its a eco one) then put your new sump washer on your sump bolt and hand tighten it into the sump.. yet again if you have a torque wrench torque it to manufacturers specifications.. once this is done your ready to put your new oil in. find out how much your vehicle holds and type of oil it holds.. i.e 5W-30 Semi synthetic then top your oil up.. re fit oil filler cap then run the vehicle until the oil light goes out on the dash.. leave the car to cool down then re check your oil using the dip stick and add more oil if nessecary.. then check for leaks around the sump bolt and oil filter. Congrats you've just done your first oil and filter change m8

no offence but halfords products are cack, dont use their oil, avoid it like the plauge, get stuff from GSF cheap and origional products like :o

the only decent thing halfords do are their batterys which score very high

granted our own oils are genrally crap but the motorsport oil isn't u donkey used in 4 cars now and i love it like high voltage by electric six

tbh castrol is all i would buy from halfords, i used to be a ripspeed specialist and the fact i work on cars daily, i just found most halfords products wank, hence why i left after 6 months, it was kack

ha i win danger danger high voltage battery lol

anywho im a ripspeed guy there are downsides but as a student it fits the bill superbly

plus i like 2 poudn for oil filter and 27 pound for 5w50 motorsport oil heheheh with my 4-1 and super 4 the saxo runs like a beaut
