200 Bhp

Looking to get my saxo to around 200 bhp over the next few weeks, just got accepted into the RAf as a pilot, so 22K+ a year coming my way.
    so will a VTS with:
    Port and polished VTS head
    Throttle Bodies
    Forged high comp pistons
    4-2-1 s/s manifold
    Supersprint cat back
    piper decat and back box
    Wild Cams(Not sure which ones)
    and a standalone ecu

Would it be worth getting a better head from a 206 as they have slighlty bigger valves? then getting port and polished and other head work carried out.
Other mods to come will include a LSD and some decent 4 pot brakes and possibley and oil coiler.

Any other ideas on what i can do too reach the 200 BHP mark

    Cheers Tim

spend about 7k to get NA 200bhp.

you wont get 200bhp on a port and polish from a std head LOL!

catcam 734s, qep bv head, forgies and tbs has been shown on a dyno to hit 190ish.

easyest way to 200 is boosted

gah, was hoping to reach it without boost for about 4k

if you have a look at georgel's thread on ssc and you would realise how much work has to go into it to achieve that power. with boost and 4k you could get a reliable 200+@wheels if you do the work yourself.

pistons are 450plus vat. Tbs and management will come close to 2k. Cams ontop, fitting the pistons cams etc.. mapping, thats not including headwork.

then you have to look at the fact you will have a very peaky engine and will need the right gearbox for it to run properly etc...

no point having big cock bragging bhp figures if you cant use them.

if you have 4k just drop an engine in thats 200+ to save messing about tuning the vts engine. plus you wont have to spend a load on rolling road time. i spent about £2000 in all roading a car so it starts adding up.

will be alot cheaper until it comes to servicing it every 3k (depending on which spec you get)

nice one mate (regards to RAF)

    when you going in.
i got accepted as weapons technician recently, going in 14th may.

i would also consider a 2nd car mate as the amount of motorwa miles you do whilst in the raf would be unbearable in a VTS at the spec your looking at.

got a join date in july, managed to get a place as a fast air pilot. Was thinking off buying a motor bike for traveling around. and turning the sax into a track car.

irc certain MR spec evos are 3k.

i remeber chatting to an evo owner at my mates garage and he was commenting that he loved the car but was only using it as a toy as it had to be serviced so often.
