What engine is it? I have an S2 rallye head and ecu, that'll take you all the way to 105bhp and good power to 7k.

Would that fit onto my mk 1 1.4 saxo alex?
  4. #4
probably yeah, would need wiring fiddling with though, whereas on this guys xsi it would be much easier to wire in...

Ahh ok cool. I wouldn't mind doing a few extra things to my saxo whilst it is off the road and in bits.

Anyhoo I don't want to ruin this guys thread. Sorry pal .

its a 306 1.6 8v engine looks like a vtr black top, 106 xsi etc. oooooooooooooo how much do u want, i have limited funds tho.

£50 for the head, not sure about the ecu, you might be best off using the xsi ecu with the fuel pressure raised, would cost you fuck all.

50 bux hmmmm, how would u raise fuel pressure? im interested
  10. #10
I have a range of fuel pressure regulators that you could have with it, changing them is a 10 min job. I'd fit new valve stem seals to the head, get it skimmed for some more compression and wang it in, or even better you could put a meatier cam in for even more poke, although with the std xsi limiter(6750? was on mine) there's no point.

i havent got much money really, cud i just wop the head straight on, and up the pressure?
  12. #12
You could, the head still works and is currently still attatched to a bottom end, although realistically while it's off you should spend a bit on making it mint so you can fit it and leave it for many years to come.

how much to do what u would do?
  14. #14
Erm just labour? you'll need a new head gasket, new cambelt, new head bolts, new rocker cover gasket. then obviously if it's already in the car you're gonna need a change of coolant and oil, MUCH easier to do it out of the car. Should realistically replace the water pump, tensioner and idler while you're at it too. All adds up. uber budget build would be just belt, gasket and bolts. if it's out of the car it's one hours labour, if it's in the car it's at least 3 times that.

Just make sure it's 100% rust free. My old one was pretty good, someone had already replaced the arches and stuff, join the E30 zone and read up a lot before you commit. And buy from a known member.
