Rev Problem

  1. #1
My mate has just given my car back but when the car is not moving the car revs go up and down instead of just staying in one place, I have piper cams 285 and a dastek chip installed, it was working before it went in so what could this be

heard of saxo doing that alot but no1 seems to no why.now and then if i slow down like at a junction the revs will go high then back down.try avin a word where you had ure dastek chip fitted

i have that problem, but only when the car is cold. Saxos hey! lol

you got a stainless exhaust? straight through? had the same problem on mine, its was caused by the exhaust not producing the right back pressure for the engine!

mine does it occasionally, i think it maybe the cams mate as they do affect the idle. maybe that it needs a re-map or has it jus been done?

might sound strange but when i had that problem it was because i didnt upraight my standard battery. If you have a sound system i.e subs amps ect.. they put a strain on the battery which when you are out and about with stereo on the battery isnt recharging well. so when you go to start it in the morning you may have problems with idling.. i upraighted my battery and problems haev dissapered saxo's hay lol..

mine did that. Replaced my coolant temp sensor and that sorted it.
Also what Dico_VTS and Starkie have said may be pretty feasible (sp) options.

I’ve sorted my problem all I did was disconnect my battery over night When you start the car you will need to rev the car a bit more then normal for the first few miles but then it should sort its self out

hmm. Sounds like you may have had slightly blocked injectors. And with the ECU resetting itself, its set itself up to work in accordance.
