Lots of steam..

    As above.
Got my car running over the last few days and such..

Now it starts and i've driven her etc..

But there seems a lot of steam..
The engine was fine when removed from the donor car, though was outside (Covered up) on and off for about 4 months.

Could the steam be something to do with this?

I've given the engine an oil and filter change, so water from there should be gone etc, and there doesn't seem to be any trace..

I don't want to assume its a headgasket problem just yet..

The engine is an Early Silvertop R lump (Will be out soon due to insurance, but still needs to be running sweet..)

    Any suggestions?

Though about 'S'ing, BUT insurance will ruin me more than likely...?

    Cheers

steam from the engine bay ? checked all the radiator and coolent pipes?

Sorry - Steam from the exhaust!

out the backbox or actually out the exhaust?

    is the exhaust sealed properly,

if its out the backbox that will just be the automatic choke making your exhaust smoke more just leave it running for a few mins and see if it stops

    Out the backbox,.

Pretty sure its not blowing or anything.
Left it running to operating temp and revved a bit - Still steamed - Not so sure its not just damp / maybe water in the fuel a little or something.

    Really no idea

More than likely the cold weather mate, if i leave mine idleing it just chucks the steam out and fills the carpark up. Or could be where you've had the car sitting around it has just gathered moisture in the exhaust

if you aint losing any water and your water aint emulsivying "with oil in it"

    then you should be fine

aryt m8, i had the exact same problem with mine and i thought my headgasket had blown! i started the car up and filled the water header tank to the top to see if it was loosing any water, but it wasnt. every time i reved the car a stream of rusty water was coming out of the backbox lol. so my exhaust was full of water because its just been sitting on my drive for a few months. i think you have the same problem m8 butjust take your sax out for a good drive and give it a bit so it will clear the exaust from all the shity water lol n before it rots your exaust
