gear linkage!!!!

   my gear linkage has poppd off, so i bought new ones and it keeps popping off, so i think the ball is worn down
   
   the ball is the part where the gear linkage socket goes onto
   
   anyone bought or changed this ball before
   
   is it easy?

   which one is it mate? there are three.
   if it keeps popping off then have you tried some X-Sport gear linkages. they have a pin that goes threw them to stop them popping off. and for £35.50 they are hceaper than a full set from Citroen

   it is the small linkage, the one at the bottom. i was trying to order the linkages but i needed the car fixed there and then so i payed £34 for a full set of standrad citroen linkages and it is still popping off, i want to bring them back and order the x-sport ones lol
   
   how long did they take to come through the post ?

   i got them the next day mate but i paid first thing and bought three sets. just give them a bell mate and see what they can do for you. all the details are in the thread in the top of this section. there is also a guide ive done in there aswell

   i dont know mate which is why i said just to ring. if you ring tomorrow they could possibly have them to you for Tuesday.
   
   even without the group buy they are still under £40 iirc and never need replacing just need re-greasing a couplem of times each year

   ok, well thanks for your help, hopefully i can bring the linkages back, i have one on the car tho and 2 in thir packaging. i'll give it a good clean and and stick them back, they will never know

    The bottom ball is only bolted to the gearbox, it doesn't move, so if you wanna replace it then it's a 15 min job.

    cant see it been that much mate. do you know your vin number? as i can look on the Citroen database for a price for you

    i think the part number is - 2163 08 (Control Rod Lug) = £10.83
    
    thats the one on the box.
    
    the selector arm, the long one comming from your gear stick to the linkages is 2414 A7 = £41.60

    Did you order a set of the X-sports in the end to solve the problem of them popping off Rob mate?
    
    Mine popped off on Christmas eve and left me stranded for a bit...first breakdown ever and it sucked

    i was at work all day today and havnt had a chance to ring them, hopefully they will be open tomoro
    
    the car is going into the body shop to get sprayed so i want it fixed for then, so they dont drive and it breaks down lol i may have to buy the ball joint
