That kit is widely regarded by most as the best available.

Oops bit late in at this one and its a little over budget but it is a good price for the whole kit.

On a road car it could be argued that the B8 dampers are as capable especially being a little softer and more forgiving

    Would be within budget too

and that is the full kit front springs/shocks and rear shocks kam and mystic, i should of said.. i want to lower 40mm.
  7. #7
Yeh both the links Kam and I posted are full Kits front and rear shocks and springs for the front.

The torsion bars need to be adjusted on the rear of the saxo to change its height so bear that in mind when pricing up your kit!

yeee as i said got quoted at £70 to do the torsion, and to put fronts on for me aswell an extra £60, fair prices arent they?

Is this from a mate? Sounds like crazy cheap garage prices to me. I do all my own work though, id faint at a quote from a mechanic lol

no its from owens garage, the guy olly knows mikecracknell and redbullet (very highly regarded sax-p members!) also the admin team on here have recommended owens garage as a great place to go
  11. #11
Sounds like a safe bet then although Mike is rubbish at choosing fitters (and cars for that matter ) and im sure it was reds car i saw burst into smoke on track last year

Only joking, sounds like a decent enough garage and good prices to me!

with them kits you both suggested can i lower the front by 40mm and whats the max i can lower on 16" alloys?
  13. #13
What sort of saxo do you have? (The weight of the engine will make the height of the car fluctuate a bit)

Its the springs which determine how low the car will be at the front so you need to check what springs come with each kit!

As long as you have 195/40/16 tyres then im pretty sure the overall circumference of the wheel is about the same as 195/45/15 (VTS alloys)
  14. #14
soz yes i have a vtr, will be with 195/40/16 tyres, prob toyo or continental, ok must do a bit of phoning up them 2 links u and kam kindly provided!
  15. #15
Both links are on Kams website so you could just PM him for advice on the kits. VTR is a lighter engine than the VTS so if the heights quoted on Kams site are for a VTS then yours should sit a little higher at the front!

if you did buy this kit ..http://www.kam-racing.com/product_in...roducts_id/977 would you need to change the torsion bar on the back as it is a set of 4 springs/dampers?
  17. #17
Nah, i think that kit is probably one of the best matches for the standard torsion bar.

There are 2 springs for the front and 4 dampers in the kit. Your torsionbars need to be adjusted if you want the read of the car to sit lower (so that it matches the front) but they certainly dont need to be replaced.
