mine needs replacing as there is excessive play, and it failed on the mot because of it.

    how much are they?

    how harder job is it?

also how hards replacing the handbrake cable?

    handbrake cable fairly easy

think bearings are about 30 quid each, but you need to buy a new bearing nut as well so say 40 quid. most garages will do parts and labour for about 50 quid, but if you have a press or can bodge one then its fairly easy.

handbrake cable should be fairly easy, perhaps buy a haynes manual as they have DIY guides for both these things.

lol a hammer would work if you used something soft, but bearings shattering can be a c**t to clear up.

So was mine as it seized after 10 years of loving care

Breaker bar used and a lot of effort later it finally came out.

Handbrake cables can easily just be adjusted and tightened while your bearing is being sorted or whip the Haynes out and it shoudn't take more than 10 or 15 mins to do yourself buddy
