206 GTI180 Conversion

just got a pair of 180 calipers discs and pads for my saxo, but now im reading about people saying their no good with out the master cylinder, why would i need it. just so im nott thinking of something else it is the cylinder in the piece where the caliper bolts to that pushes the pads against the disc.
how much would i benefit from better brake fluid and braided lines?

The master cylinder is often overlooked and is a really important bit of kit for any decent brake setup. I think you can use others with the 180 setup but im not 100%. Its basically a pump that splits the brake fluid between the calipers iirc, it sits under the resevoir under the bonnet where you fill up the fluid, with a small shit one you dont get much pressure with a big fucker you get lots. So with big breaks you need more fluid thus a bigger cylinder.

Standard one;

Dont look on ebay, give some of the breakers etc a ring. You should be able to get one on the cheap. I wouldn't leave it out tbh.

ive got 206 gti 180 brakes on my vts with the standard master cyclinder and the brakes are perfect

A bigger master cylinder isnt fully needed tbh, i run the 206 gti 266mm setup and the pedal has a tiny more travel but nothing to worry about, it will be the same for your 283mm setup!

Btw the master cylinder is where u fill your brake fluid, its connected to the bottom of it mate!
