Just wondering, if i put in a VTS engine into my VTR and keep in the vtr gear box, what will it top out at? will it be more or less than the vtr, and wil it be more or less than the vts?

#2i have done exactly that mate, the vts engine in my vtr with the vtr box, ive had top end 136mph with more to go.
i think the vts has a shorter ratio box. the acceleration on mines awesome especially in 2nd gear.
-
#3How much is it to put a VTS engine in a VTR?
-
#4all depends how much you get the engine for an who fits it. i paid £500 for the engine which came with everythin an then got a mate to drop it in for £200.

#5Something to cosider for the future i think, cheaper than buying a VTS then?
-
#6suppose it is. i changed a few things tho when i did mine like the exhaust system, manifold, air filter etc, you will need the vts radiator and fans.
-
#7hitting the limiter on teh vts engine with a vtr box is around 163.3mph depending on wheel/tyre size. And yes it has been hit
-
#8really? who, when and where? what size wheels etc?
-
#9Wow, 163MPH in a saxo is very very fast
Also would like to know when this was done! -
#10one person who defo done it wqas John from m-developments in his charged vts. Same one that beat the m3 at crail etc...

#11Wat sort of money would one be looking at to dump a vts lump into a vtr
-
#12it says above mate, i paid £500 for the engine an my mate fitted it for £200.

#13yes putting a vtr gearbox onto a vts will give it a bigger top end
