Best Bonding product?

  1. #1
    Hi All

Going to be bonding a phase 2 spoiler to my 1.1 2001 Desire. What is the best bonding stuff that people can recommend for doing this?

Also, any tips, like drying time, how long will it be for it to hold so i dont have to stand there all day! etc..

    Thanks

Also, i just got the spoiler now, its a vtr one and to put it on i will need to bond onto the glass too, is tiger seal ok for that?

wheels motor factors sell tiger seal. go online and find your nearest one, or morrelli's are good place to start and they deliver. other than that go on u-pol's website they do a plastic glue that is as good as plastic welding and it dry's in 20 to 60 seconds which is a bonus but tigar seal is a fooker for drying can take all night in some cases.

I have some lying in the kitchen that I used to fit a spoiler a while back.
3/4 left in the tube if you want it, no use to me.
Drop me a PM if you want it, free to a good home.

    I might do mate, cheers.

I have to stick most of the spoiler on to the rear windscreen, im told that tiger seal is no good on glass? is this the case?

    What about Sikaflex?

    Also, should explain really.

Spoiler is a phase 2 vtr spoiler, going onto my mark 2 saxo 2001 1.1 desire.

The pads for the spoiler, mainly go onto the windscreen, might be able to get some bonding done on other parts of the spoiler but i doubt it will hold so most, if not all, bonding will need to be donw to the windscreen. So i need what ever is best to be able to do this.

tigerseal is okay on glass, but lightly etch on the glass with a fine sharp blade before hand to give it something to stick to. done this on a few cars now and never had come off, even when someone went into the back of me!
