VTS Dash

  1. #1
I am thinking about trying to put a vts dash in my vtr, firstly as it has an airbag and secondly because then i can customise it and get it re trimmed rather than having to take mine out to do those things.

Question is, will the dash be identical, fitting wise and will the airbag still work in my car? Does it connect to anything or not?

Dont know anything about that sort of thing so if anyone can help me that would be great.

    Thanks

it should fit fine the only difference is obviously the airbag being there instead of the glove box, and the heating pipes to the left heater will be different but should be fine for changing to a vts dash as they will be further back.

if you want a vts dash m8 pm me i have one

hi mate, although my car is all vts now right down to the abs, door mirrors, dash switches, everything now. it still started as a vtr a few years ago. i have recently put a vts dash in mine. but because mine is a mk1 vts dash it has a top glovebox. it will go straight in but you have to push it tight on the left corner while you or someone bolts it in as it pushes against the heater pipe, you cant change the heater pipe though as the ends are different shapes. too connect the 2nd airbag you need the airbag module and the extra wiring loom. i got it with mine though.

so yes you need the module and extra loom to wire it in.

im fairly sure you can get round this problem. as when i fitted my flocked glove-boxed dash into my vts and removed my vts airbag dash, i just took the heating pipe out my furio so it would fit and its fine so if you just fit a vts heater pipe i really reckon it will be fine

i tried swappin the heatin pipes mate, yes they are a differnet shape but the bad fing is the end of the pipe that goes to the main heater control bit/ matrix is a different shape/design. because when i swapped dashes we tried this, but they were different.
    obviously u wer luky,lol.
