   the 1.1 gearbox has the best acceleration out of the 1.4's vtr's and vts's a few people buy 1.1 gearboxes to fit in there vts for quicker acceleration but you lose alot of speed top end

   if you dropped a vtr gear box into a vts, would you lose speed at top end?

    no if you put a vtr box on a vts you will loose acceleration but gain top speed, if you have the power to get to it

    i would think citroen or whoever started the "TU" engine series would have worked out the gear ratios to best suit the torque given by the engine

    it would make sense but they didnt and thank goodness they didnt so we can buy cheap 1.1 boxes

    when you put a 1.1 gearbox on a 1.4 engine what rpm do you have at 120km/h(think its 90mph)

    would the vtr engine not blow the 1.1 gearbox quite easily tho? i wudda thought the vtr gearbox wud b stronger??

    the final speed on a 1.1 gearbox will be 205km

    i have my vtr box on the vts engine, do you think id be better getting a vts one to improve acceleration or wont there be much difference?

    there isnt much difference actually
    the final drive of vts is 16/63 and the final drive of vtr is 14/60
    
    but the gears are long in the vtr, but the final drive shorter.
    
    so its kind of the same, vtr might be a bit longer.
    you should use the vtr final drive, with the vts gears, then it woudl be really nice.
