i have a 2003 vtr (cat in manifold) and would like a full cat-back system

3.5" round inward rolled exit and no silencers apart from the back box. would like everything to be a direct fit with no chopping etc needed. also want it to look good and sound awesome of course

currently looking at a supersprint centre plus piper/janspeed/scorpion/etc backbox...

what are my options and what would you reccommend?

    cheers, chris

    Supersprint full system ftw!

Or maybe an ashley back box mated to a supersprint centre section! That would sound AWESOME!!!

    Yer, good point...

Dont bother with supersprint! Over priced tbh!

    Get an ashley system ftw!

supersprint with a piper tailpipe would fit the bill nicely.

there's only a handful of companies out there that make bespoke exhausts that perform better than the off-the-shelf performance options. From memory none on my list begin with P

Long time ago i had a piper system. Manifold back. Had a 4" slash tailpipe, didnt looks as bad as it sounds lol.

Nice and quiet with a bit of a rumble on tickover, then nice and loud when you step on it. Not sure on performance of it but i loved it.

I used to have an ABP Magnex system which was a straight through centre section, decat and Magnex backbox, that was a perfect fit and good quality and sounded mad

Get rid of the cat-in-manifold and it will sound even better.
  12. #12
is the abp centre section a direct fit with the magnex backbox? if so i would be tempted. where can you buy the abp centre from?

will be getting a decatted 4-2-1 at some point soonish

pretty much down to supersprint centre with either janspeed or piper backbox

janspeed is only £120 delivered whereas the piper is more like £160

i've had a janspeed before and it looked/sounded really good. plus i like they way they look on saxos

although the piper also looks good and is louder from what i've read, which to be honest is what i'm after

surely the supersprint with janspeed will be pretty loud though..?

    whaddaya reckon... janspeed or piper?

    cheers, chris

Ive got ABP magnex system, sounds a beast!!!
  14. #14
    magnex
  15. #15
right i've just been onto abp and it's £330 for their magnex single box system

whereas i could get the supersprint plus janspeed/piper for about £200/£230

all of the above look good. should all sound good too

but as said i want it loud so i'm swaying towards the piper!

    opinions..?

superspint magnum is exactly what your looking for. Add in a race cat back centre section and your away.

I had one for sale until yesterday when it sold.

scroll down till you see it here. (bear in mind thats fitted so knock at least £50 off)

go for the piper, my full system with a 3" ir is silly loud now it has coked up
the decat helps though i guess
  18. #18
supersprint looks good (similar to piper). i've only heard good things about the noise from the piper though, so will probably go with one of them!

get some pics up of the 3" inward roll piper johnnyg! i'm undecided whether to go with 3" or 3.5"

Im also stuck between the 3/3.5" inwardly or outwardly rolled atm

From experience the outwardly rolled 3.5" Outwardly rolled give the best looks and sounds plus the fit is spot on

Where have you looked to buy one from so far bud?
  21. #21
    cheers johnny, looks good!

yeah was considering outward rolled myself aswell. too many to choose from!

just looked on ebay so far as there seems to be all size options. just realised i was looking at the wrong listing though and the one for my car is £175! not cheap for a backbox!

had a janspeed full stainless catback on my last car - £150 brand new! sounded really nice and looked good too

can get a janspeed stainless backbox for £120 delivered which i know look good on saxos. it's just the noise i'm wondering about

just have to keep searching the forums and youtube i guess!

anyone know where else to buy piper backboxes?

    cheers, chris
  22. #22
right i've decided i'm gonna get the supersprint straight thru pipe from kam and a piper s/s 3.5" inward roll backbox

found the piper box for £128 delivered - same price on performancecentre.co.uk and needforspeed.co.uk

anyone bought from them before? or can reccommend anywhere else to buy?

    cheers, chris

Just bought a Janspeed manifold, decat and system. Bit pricey.
  25. #25
think that ashley system is mild steel plus from what i've seen they don't sit straight

    piper do though afaik...

sounds good hamilton, should be sounding pretty tasty once fitted
  26. #26
get a supersprint race only full system i have one and am not dissapointed pops and bangs all the time looks sneaky aswell been small people dont expect it to sound like it does
  27. #27
yeah the race system seems top for sound, just don't wanna go for the track look just yet though! haha
