remap in birmingham?

  1. #1
hi all, my bro is getting his vts cammed next weekend so will need it remapping, where is the best place to go? is there a place in or around birmingham? also what sort of price would he expectd to pay for a ported+polished head? and what sort of gains would he achieve getting the head work done with the cams and remap? or is the head work not neccessary?? would a quiffe diff be more bennifical than head work.

thanks for reading guys, any help greatly recieved and needed

Not worth the £600+ if thats as far as hes taking engine work. If he was going bodies, high comps etc then yes - cams and remap will do fine

Nothampton motorsport if he is going to use a standalone, or mabby jamupyourbumsport

and a quaife diff will help more, but make sure you spell it right as a quiffe diff will do nothing

same as ryan said. a quaife diff will gain you 10x the performance of hadwork on a more or less standard engine.

i know a few guys at aldon automotive, they do a lot of hillclimb cars and escort mk2 rally cars so i say they are very good. ive already asked them about re-mapping std ecu and they dont do it but they can mapp standalone ecu's. they also have a rolling road.

a quaife atb is an "active torque biasing" unit that goes in the gearbox to replace the cars open diff. it aids cornering and traction by transferring power to the wheel with the most grip.
