VTR heads respond very well to a good head job, but its usualy very expensive. £400+. If he doesnt know who did it, stay away. Ask for some pictures of the inlet and exhaust ports and post them up.

If its just a port and polish, it wont add much bhp like bigger valves would.

    what mods would you recommend?

cam, vernier pulley, 4-2-1, full system, enclosed induction and a remap all with the head (providing its a good one with reciept)

all adds up but will make an astonishing difference. may be just on the heels of a VTS.
change the gearbox for a VTS or and XSI one and its should go like fook

cheers mate, all depends how much you want to spend and what you want from the car.

just see how that head goes, may be worth getting you own done if your goig through all the other trouble with mods.

Headwork is an art. It's not just a case of bigger is better. The head is design to flow gases into the head as fast as possible, the amount isn't as important. If it's just been made bigger then the velocity of the intake is affected and therefore can hinder performance as a pose to gain. Do your homework on the head I.e Who did it, whats it had done etc.
