    cheers lol

the 106 has an induction kit and a straight thru exhaust and the civic has a cat back but I still should beat them?

my mate has a stripped out civic import 1.5 vtec with straight through exhaust and i only lost to him by 0.45 seconds. im running straight throught exhaust, induction and stripped bk seats out on my mk2 vtr. so you should beat the 1.4 easy

if you want to go extreme you can take all the plastic trim out of the rear, roof lineing, and even sun visors lol but thats taking it quite far lol depends on how much luxery u want and if ur planning on keeping it that way coz will be hassel to put it all bk in lol. apart from that cant think of any other weight reduction apart from carbon bonnet and pannels buts thats when it starts getting expensive.

you could probly beat them without strippng your car out but will be better to beat them by alot i suppose

doorcards? they're only held on by two torx srews and a few clips.
  10. #10
to be honest mate you have stripped out all the noticable stuff if you go about taking out sun visors, boot trim and doorcards the difference would be barely noticeable and if your not going to keep it like it the effort in doing it wont really be worth it!

quite a fair bit of raceing is down to the driver also

m8 of myn has a 1.4i ek, n by 100mph i was about 4 car lengths infront, that was with no strippin out or anything, and as for the quicksilver...if u can drive, as people hav mentioned, you wil smoke them both..

anything can be put back in mate, the main things to take out is what you have already done. you could go as far as taking the fogs out aswell and the dash but for one day imo i dont really think its worth it.

im supprised no-one has said "take a sh*t before you race"

I was thinking along them lines..

Don't wear millions on clothes, drain your engine oil to prevent any resistance in there, take brakes off, take spoiler off.

On a serious note though, if you wanna go extreme you could tape all the panel gaps up but I don't think it will make that much difference. Like what's been said, you've got the main stuff.

do something with the tyre pressures too, im not sure what does what (lower = grip) or something like that so you get a good launch
  15. #15
I raced yesterday I beat the civic easy and my mates 106 was over heating so he never raced but I raced onother quicksilver and beat it easily too

    fit a VTS gearbox.

    off to crail?
  18. #18
Spare wheel and holder is a good one to shave off a few pounds...
  19. #19
I wouldn't strip out any more takes a lot of time and perhaps not wirth doing if you want to restore the car back to standad.

For a laugh I would get some space saver wheels for the back to reduce drag.. but thats just me being stupid!

TBH if driven well you should win whatever
  20. #20
You should have a clear advantage.
take off spare wheel if you havent already, run it on the red (no fuel ftw)
and...Shave those eyebrows, every ounce counts.

u need grip off the line most 1/4 mile races are won an lost on the start line fella
